Sunday Morning
Sunday morning at Salisbury can be a very busy place! We would love to have you with us! We start the morning with Sunday School at 9:30 and then have worship together at 10:30. Here are some answers to questions that you may have about our Sunday morning:
Q: Who’s Invited to Sunday School?
A: Everyone! Sunday School is a time when we learn about our faith in age specific, informal settings. We have Sunday School classes for elementary kids, young adults, and adults. Come join us every Sunday morning at 9:30!
Q: What about my kids?
A: Salisbury Christian is all about families. We strive to offer faith-growing opportunities for everyone regardless of age. We see children as a treasured part of our congregation! We have age specific Sunday School classes for children. During worship, kids have the option of staying in the Worship Service or attending Children’s Church or Nursery. Nursery is for kids up to 4 years old and Children’s Church is for students age 5- 5th grade.
Q: What is the worship service like?
A: Our service is fairly informal and traditional. We sing several hymns, take up an offering, listen to a message, and receive the Lord’s Supper. Services start at 10:30 and usually last about an hour.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wondering how you should dress? Salisbury is a very down-to-earth kind of place. Most of our folks wear casual outfits on Sundays. Some men choose to wear ties. We don’t make a big deal about what we wear because Jesus cares about what is on the inside of a person. We just ask that it be comfortable for you and appropriate.
Q: Do I have to be a member to take Communion?
A: No. We practice open Communion. This means that anyone who visits our church and is a baptized believer may take part in this wonderful act of devotion to Christ. Communion is a big part of our service and we celebrate it every Sunday, no matter what!
